Whaaaat? New Journal?

Fri Dec 18, 2009, 8:02 AM
  • Mood: Christmas Spirited
  • Listening to: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Soundtrack
  • Reading: Nothing at the Moment
  • Watching: ALICE
  • Playing: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
  • Eating: I don't know yet.
  • Drinking: SPRITE! OMG!
Yeah... I know what you're thinking... A new journal entry? Already? But I haven't read the last two yet!

But here it is. Another entry.

Because I'm so darned excited!

First of all: I sold my book back to the book shop and got just enough money to go get my game after the Christmas shopping was done! Yay for being both generous and selfish at the same time! So I've spent plenty of time in between finals just playing this game...

And I've beaten it. And I'm playing it again.

Those who know me well enough to know my gaming habits know that I typically beat a game and then put it away for a year or more before playing it again. So I can 'forget' every thing that happened and don't feel like I'm watching re-runs.

But this game is fantastic. Really. Utterly fantastic. Playing through a second time doesn't feel like a re-run because everything changes with the way I play. I answered a few questions differently and the entire script for the cinema changed! The things my charcter says when he looks at the posters on the wall has changed! Not to mention my whole viewpoint on the game itself has changed, now that I know the big awesome ending of doom.

To those who say this isn't Silent Hill: WTF? This is more SIlent Hill than a lot of other Silent Hill games are. Okay, so it's not cannon in the same way 3 is and doesn't follow the first game (though you can fit it after one of the endings in SH1, but I won't tell you why because it involves spoilers for both games)... but that doesn't mean it ISN'T Silent Hill. I mean... what was your favorite Silent Hill? I'll give you a moment...

And I'm sure 90% of you will say Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2 wasn't cannon. It was psychological. It was creepy. And it really only made sense towards the end when you realize what's really going on. There was no cult (unless you got certain endings) involved... just pure psychology. And that's why people loved it. Also SH2 was full of cool colors (Mist, etc...) on the world map and there was lots of running through the streets.

So why is it that when there's a NEW SH game that is purely psychological with lots of cool colors and running through the streets (while still having a storyline that DOESN'T rip off SH2 but still stands on it's own as awesome) they all start shouting that it isn't a Silent Hill? If it's because there's no cult, then the same can be said about SH2. Think about it.

And I thought that it was creepy. Its also the only Survival Horror game that I've been sore from playing, since I flailed so panicked trying to get those monsters OFF OF ME! And sure, you're safe when it's not icy... but there's always the threat of it turning icy again soon. I save a lot (thank GOODNESS for save anywhere!)... mostly before opening doors... because I was never sure when the ice would come to torment me again.

And the best thing about the game? After I finished it I sat down and figure it out. I figured out how everyone and everything connected. And then when I went to play it again, it's already different. I could probably play this game numerous times and come up with different theories depending on how I play. They promised Psychological impact... and they delivered it. I think it's more Silent Hill than anything after the 3rd game so far.

Please make more.

ANYWAY!

Onto a different topic... I JUST ORDERED GAEL!

I'm waiting for an invoice so I can pay... which may take a while considering it's 1:00am in Korea time. ^_^()

And also...

If you watched the Alice mini series on SyFy this month... good for you! You'll know what I mean when I say that it is the BEST reimagining of Alice I have EVER seen (and I have seen a lot, being a big Alice fan.). It's fresh, it's detailed, it includes the little things from the books that people typically look over in new and exciting ways, it's got an excellent story, wonderful characters that you really connect to, awesome acting, and only the Best Ending Ever.

So if you haven't seen it... Get ready for the DVD that comes out this March! I promise that you won't regret it!

Hey there Ari....by the way you do know this is the men's restroom right? ^_^ bwa ha ha! Anyway, how goes the wonders of Arizona? Still wearing long sleeves outside in 115 degree weather? (You crazy bitch, you.)

Hope everything is fine. Please say Hi to Phil for me....and let him know that I have already called his dad on a lie since he's been home. (Yes, already. -sighs-)

Though Phil might get a kick out of it though. Not that it wasnt to be expected. Have fun! Enjoy your evil dollness and college!

Yes actually, one of my favorite shirts is long sleeved! But today I'm wearing a no-sleeve top because I guess I should eventually, right? What's funny is it's probably actually going to be chilly today (chilly being 95 XD) because it rained so much last night. I need a light jacket. XD

Arizona is awesomeness, really. Went to a waterpark this weekend and it really felt like summer. Sunburn and all. I got sunburnt on the back of my knees! Can you believe that? It's irritating! XD

Have surgery this week to get my wisdom teeth out, so that kind of makes me nervous. Saying it as 'this week' actually makes it sound further away than if I said 'in two days' which is the truth of the matter. My stomach gets all achy just from thinking about it.

I have an interview tomorrow, though. With a photo place, none the less. And if it doesn't work out, I'm going for a position at a gamestop in the same mall. Wish me luck!

I'll tell Phil next time I see him awake... tomorrow morning. My school schedule and his work schedule don't line up. So on Tuesdays and Thursdays I really don't see him at all. Except for this Thursday. But I don't have school this Thursday so that doesn't count.

Damn...I think I would die in a long sleeve shirt in over like 65 degree weather. ^_^ I still say your crazy. But then again I like cooler weather anyway. You know...60-90degree weather? And then you wont get sunburned on the backs of your knees! Bwa ha! Though I must admit that sounds like it would suck. I hope your not as itchy today.

But the park and stuff sounds awesome! I'm glad you are having fun!

Good luck with those wisdom teeth. I just had a root canal myself due to Anthony punching my face and chipping a tooth in his sleep. It sucked but it wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. How many of your teeth are they taking out?

And also good luck with your interview! I hope you get to have the same fun as at Sears....but with better pay and hours.

Enjoy your week! And seriously, good luck with the teeth thing and the job thing. Hope college is fun!

They took out all 4 of my wisdom teeth yesterday. I'm doing better than I thought. Just a little swelling, but no more bleeding and I'm talking now. I've even been eating and I think I'm going to eat some more now because I'm getting tired. My lips are so pale it looks like Halloween came early. XD It's funny, actually. But I'm doing really good, actually. Kind of feel like I'm chewing on my stitches, though.

The interview went well. Won't know if I got the job until he does one more interview with another person. But I have a really good feeling about it. ^_^

I'm hoping to be all better by Sunday/Monday because I have Birthday Food to eat. XD And then on Tuesday I'm going out with some friends so I really REALLY hope I'm better by then. (Not to mention I have to go back to school.) Though I know I'm not going to be 100% until the bone grows back and fills up the gap (about 2 months).
